I Got a Tune Stuck in My Head

Do you ever get a tune stuck in your head, going around and around all day, maybe longer? Yeah, me too. Pretty cool, huh! I mean, seriously, really cool. I don’t know what I would do without that particular, innate, and nearly unharnessed skill. It is comforting, even soothing sometimes, but always handy; a built-in sound track developer riding around in my head. It makes my life a long concert, an all-night-fireside-jam-session, all day long…all winter long. Driving the tractor, mowing the lawn, painting the house, biking…all of it, with music. It’s hard to beat that. I rarely have a moment that is not accompanied by some melody. I have found on my bike trips that the headtunes often match my heart-rate in my temples or the rhythm of my respiration. Often I am whistling them out loud; sometimes just a quiet whooshing of my breath. And then, there are the times I get to play along with them on my fiddle. I know some tunes might be dismissed as annoying, and I get them… rarely, but they play through a bit and, soon enough they are replaced. And really, I think its worth it. How could one actually develop as an expressive fiddler without tunes constantly running wild in your noggin?
