Several Minutes of Calm Satisfaction.

I am building a set of corbels in my shop. They are for a new portico, on an old house in town and are styled after the gracefully curved ones on the old railroad station. Those were made in some factory well over a hundred years ago, as was the entire building, and shipped here on a train. I have made corbels like these before; here is one in white.

Here I’m preparing the parts for the corbels by smoothing them with a low-angle jack plain. Smoothing and soothing. Try it.
